Judiciary interfering in government - Law Minister
Congress claims that it has a video clip of Sanghani in which he alleged that the judiciary was interfering in business of the state government.
In the clip, Sanghani is heard saying, "It is business of the State Government to decide which officer to put where and how and what work he should be assigned. The Courts do not have the right to interfere in the matter. I am telling this as the Law Minister of the State."

Jamnagar - Refining Capital Of India
Refining capacity at jamnagar refining hub is intensified. Essar oil announced completion of the expantion of its vadinar refinery.
This expantion was 4 month ahead of the scheduled completion time.
Sources from Reliance industry didnt disclosed any response earlier on the news.
Later Mr. Ambani announced various projects around Jamnagar complez at RIL AGM. RIL is sitting on hughe cashpile but with current slowdown no companies are putting their hands in new projects, RIL once bitten by repulsive policy of central govt regarding the D6 basins, is looking back at Jamnagar area.
In recent times, Jamnagar will see a huge proprtion of inflows of more projects and more business.

Jamnagar : New GSFC LNG Terminal
Currently GSFC is under expansion of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) plant capacity at Sikka to 1.6 mtpa from 1.2 MTPA, this is a Rs.300 crore project.
This LNG terminal will be opening a new business for GSFC, currently India’s only 2 LNG terminal are in Gujarat. GSPL has setup the terminal with Adani at Mundra, while GVK is setting up a new terminal at OkhaMadhi.
India’s LNG demand is likely to rise in coming years. And GSFC on the other hand waiting for the new urea policy to be unveiled, if all is well then GSFC may go ahead with Dahej expansion plan and subsequently the LNG terminal also.

Cold wave sweeps across Jamnagar
The day now starts late for most of the citizens and people prefer to stay indoors as the cold is intense by late evening. Woollen market is booming with business and "Ghunta" party in the farms are in fool demand.
Yet there is no official statement / clarification from the Govt. on the minimum temperature recorded this season in Jamnagar.
Most of the Jamnagar citizens couldn't enjoy 31st also.

Pirated DVD, Vegetable prices etc.
Last Saturday, vegetable shop owners around the main vegetable market stopped business at the subhash market, causing sharp increase in the vegetable prices. In this tussle of JMC and vegetable businessmen, citizens are paying price (actually high price), earlier last month JMC suggested to move the vegetable market to Hapa marketing yard. Vegetable shop owners are arguing that cost to transportation vegetables to the city from Hapa is unreasonable.

Brass Parts - Scrap price rise is killing the business
In may Brass scraps rate were 8200 USD / ton , which is now 9400 USD / ton, this price rise translated to around 275 rs rise in per kg amout of brass scrap in city.

Retired Mamlatdar - cleared of all charges
Chandrakant Bhuptani, a mamlatdar working in Kalavad was arrested in January 1992 was caught by ACB officials while accepting bribe of Rs 300 from a kerosene vendor, Chandrakant Joshi. ACB suggested that Joshi bribed Bhuptani so that he could carry on his business. And earlier special ACB court had convicted Bhuptani for four years rigorous imprisonment in 1997.
Bhuptani moved to Gujarat High Court, and was cleared of all charges considering there was no evidence against him.

Shravan Fair - Extended for 2 More Days
JMC has extended the Jamnagar Janmashtami Fair for 2 more days.
Frequent rains had dampened the spirits of citizens as they cant visit fair in heavy splashes. this news also bought cheers for the shop owners of the fair.
This 2 days also coincides with celebration of Eid, so organizers hope to recover the money via this extension.
Normally Shravan / Eid fairs brings lot of cloud and entertainment / business, however this year frequent rains throughout all three days of Shravan had spoiled the celebrations.

Shivrajpur (Dwarka) to be developed as Beach Resort
In response to GMB's bid request for eco friendly beach development in Gujarat, two firms had shown interest. Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) has short listed tourist beaches at Sarkeshwar (Amreli) and Shivrajpur (Jamnagar).
Two architecture consultancy firms are Hiren Gandhi & Associates and Wapcos India, a flagship company of union ministry of water resources.
The successful bidders will be involved in planning and design of tourist beach development. Gujarat Green Beach Development Project will be first amongst the public private partnership (PPP) projects from Gujarat Govt. around Rs. 200 crore will be spent on developing these two beaches.
Shivrajpur near Jamnagar has the best view and clean blue water with potential to become one of the best beaches in Gujarat.

Indonesia based Salim Group is looking forward to establish its presence in Jamnagar, Modi accepted an invitation to visit Indonesia but had to delay because of his health and fiasco of his Oman visit.
A delegation led by South Governor of Sulawesi province, Indonesia. Invited Modi in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit in January 2009.

Essar Oil Refinery Expansion Plans
Essar Oil Ltd, confirmed yesterday its plans to go ahead with the expansion of its Jamnagar refinery and continuing business of petroleum retail businesses spread across the country.
The company is also laying down phased plan to expand into petrochemicals, the natural progression for any refinery, till after the second stage of refinery expansion is completed in December 2011.
This expansion project would cost about $5.5 billion, is being implemented in two phases for which the company has a loan commitment of about $4.55 billion, $700 million is from commitments in foreign loans and the remaining is from Indian lenders. Essar did mentioned that they can go for more foreign lending.
Current expansion plans are needed for Essar to de-bottleneck and upgrade its existing Jamnagar refinery, Essar is hoping to increase Jamnagar refinery's annual output capacity from 13 million tonnes (mt) to 16 mt (330,000 barrels a day) in the first phase. This phase will cost Rs 7,810 crore and it will involve installation of additional processing units (such as coker and hydro-treaters), a hydrogen-manufacturing unit and revamping of some of the existing units. The company is taking Rs 4,600-crore debt for the first phase, which is expected to be completed by December 31, 2010.

Crude oil processing capacity of 5,80,000 BPD makes RPL Jamnagar 6th largest refinery in the world and is also amongst the world's most complex refineries.
RPL Jamnagar refinery Features includes:
* RPL refinery has Nelson Complexity index of 14.0, this is useful to process heavy sulfur crude variety and will be able to process heavy crude, refinery emission is too low and the pollution graphs is more greener, even finer compared to forthcoming Euro IV norms for emission.
* In todays business, these high complexity refining capacity will provide competitive advantage, as the refinery can process more sour crude, more refining is surely possible.
* RPL Jamnagar refinery's geographical proximity with middle-east will turn this largest crude oil producing region in the world to most cheapest crude processsing unit.
Jamnagar district is the 'refining hub of the world' it produces 1.24 million BPD oil, it is to note that Reliance Jamnagar refinery accounts for 40% of Petroleum consumed in India.
Reliance's new 5.8 M BPD Refinery is located at the Jamnagar special economic zone (SEZ).

Huge Power Plant by Singapore Company
The company has finalised coastal location of Bhogat (near Dwarka), all pre-feasibility study is completed.
Proposed Power plant will cost Rs 24,000 crore, this will be coal fired as fuel and USEL is looking forward to construct a dedicated terminal to bring in coal at Bhogat.
USEL will sign an MoU with the state government during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit to be held on January12 and 13, 2009.

Mukesh Ambani's RPL Refinery - More News
Why is this project execution so special, we should note that around 15 such projects were being executed at the time when the Global recession hit the Business world, most of such projects were in China, US and Gulf.
Among this projects are global names like CNOOC (China), CONOCO Phillips (US), Marathon Oil (UK) and KNPC, Saudi Aramaco, Qatar Petroleum from Gulf, RPL is the only company to have completed its project in record time.
An official statement by RIL states that "By commissioning the 5,80,000 bpd refinery in Jamnagar, Reliance Industries has become the world's single-largest supplier of fuels to the global market"
Mukesh Ambani, RPL chairman added that "A decade ago, Jamnagar Refinery helped break India's dependence on imported fuels when RPL commissioned RIL's refinery in Jamnagar."
