Lakhota Lake - Birds in Danger

Posted on January 25, 2012 07:50 by Admin

Jamnagar citizens have just a few place to visit in city,  favourite being Lakhota Lake, a nice view of lake and the castle is a wonderfull sight, specially with birds flying all around.

However it seems Jamnagari are caring little to this birds and feeding them with food like Biscuit, Bread, Flour and Roti.

That there are many stalls near Lakhota Lake that sells these food for birds, Thanks to lack of civic sense in the Jamnagaris birds get to eat the junk food, which makes them sick and does costs life sometimes.

Five years back, hundreads of sea-gull were killed because of these foods, JMC should take some steps to avoid such incidents.

Also a little attention and civic sense from Jamnagari will help save birds and the nice place that we all have.

A Naval training camp was organised by Okha marine police and INS Dwarka, cadets were given training on using air inflated emergency boat.  For the first time, Coastal DIG, INS Dwarka, INS Pralay and STS all are participating in this training exercise, INS Pralay is currently docking at Okha port.

Gujarat coast is biggest in India, spanning 1600 KM and coast guard and Navy has strong presence considering proximity to specific countries, Jamnagar has biggest coast line of 335 KM in Gujarat, this places Jamnagar in demand of high security.

Cricket Bunglow to be upgraded

Posted on January 13, 2012 04:19 by Admin

After many years, Cricket bunglow ground may gets some repair work.

Theoritical acceptance to a demand of around 1.5 Crore was accepted recently by Sports authority of India.

Jamnagar Public Works Department had raised a request of procuring maintenance expense of around 1.5Crore for this Cricket building.

There will be 5 wickets, upgraded dressing room and special provision for parking.

It is ironic that in the town of "Ranji", there hasnt been any Ranji match played in last 2 decades, perhaps this upgradation of Cricket bunglow may bring a match or two and also bring joy to Jamnagar citizens.
