Khambhalia citizens will enjoy more as they are for getting a new District Headquarter. 

12th Commerce results

Jamnagar received 72.71% results for 12^th commerce stream. With new grading system, this is around10% less then previous year.

Dental college issues, Dy collectors change etc.

Dental college student protest - student on strike, in usual way students of Jamnagar dental college are on strike, citing reasons of problems around the hostel and with demands of changing everyone from security-guard to dean of the college.

In a sudden move, 6 dy. collectors across the district were shuffled out of district and new comers are mostly from out of Jamnagar province.

A police constable was nabbed while taking bribe of 4,000 rs. for providing license of a pan shop.

Jamnagar - Gujarat Budget 2011

Although this budget is more of neutral in terms of taxation, there is a good news for Jamnagar,

Jamnagar will soon have a four track road extended to Bhavnagar, regarding taxation more tax will be imposed on tobacco and mobile services, there will be more ITI, and for the first time to cut carbon emission and promote green revolution, govt is proposing green tax, this green cess will be 2 paisa per unit of electricity consumption.  

Save Mangroves - Marine National Park

A campaign by Marine National Park authority is well received by Jamnagar coastal areas, a "Save Cher" campaign launched this year brings fisherman’s, coastal locals and authorities in one shed to save the mangroves in India's largest marine national park.

Around 58 villages will be covered for this campaign, this campaign will feature activities like puppet show, booklet distribution, documentary and traditional shows like Bhavai, street play etc.

Good thing about this campaign is that the activities are executed by students and local eco development committee.

DKV College -new building inauguration

Shri Doshi Kalidas Virji (DKV) College's new building is ready and will be inaugurated on 31-December.
It took more then 9 years to build the new building; this new building was constructed after the collapse of a wing in 2001 earthquake. Technical education minister Raman Vora will inaugurate the new premise.

JNV Aliabada - Khel Mahakumbh Completed

Jamnagar (Gujarat) District Khel Maha kumbh was completed successfully at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Aliabada on Wednesday.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Students performed welcome songs and many cultural programmes, district additional collector, local MLAs etc were present and they distributed awards to various winning team and participants

district education department will host many sport competition
starting 14 nov.

Around 6000 player and athlete will compete for a 20 day sports meet.

Balachadi Sainik School - Golden Jubilee Celebration

Jamnagar’s Sainik school is celebrating its Golden Jubilee celebrations, a year long celebrations were kicked off yesterday in presence of Her Excellency Governor Kamla Devi.

Governor emphasised on focusing on science, technology and trade for the younger generation, she remembered the Indian freedom fighters and also recalled the contribution of Sainik School, This school alumni has around 200 members passed out from NDA.

Various programmes were organised by school, and school will be celebrating the same through out the year.

I personally had strong affection towards Sainik School Balachadi, having cleared the entrance exam of Sainik School Balachadi and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya; I choose to move to Navodaya Vidyalaya. To me Balachadi students will always be a symbol of energy, enthusiasm and courage.

Vidya Sahayak - Bogus Certificate Scandal

One more scandal hits Jamnagar, a local education observer and a head cleark are under investigation for a possible case of forging and issuing bogus certificate to hundreads for Vidya Sahayak Scheme.

Approx more then hundread illegal candidates made their way through this Vidya Sahayak scheme, these were not from Jamnagar district still were enrolled for this program.

Many are saying that each of the candidate have paid more then 4 lakh to get enrolled in the scheme, so this will not be an easy task for the law enforcement agencies to clear this mess

B.Sc. in Yoga by Jamnagar Ayurved University

Jamnagar Ayurved University  is offering a B.Sc. Course in Yoga.

Jamnagar's Ayruveda university has started B.Sc in Yoga course from current academic year, currently this course has 50 seats out of which 10 are NRI seats, fees are nominal (.Rs.30,000. / 700$) for three year course.

This course is also recognized by the India's College Education committee UGC.

Gujarat Ayurveda University also started new diploma and degree pharmacy courses from current acedemic year.

Degree , Diploma Engineering College from RIL

3 years back Mukesh Ambani announced RIL's plans to create a world class university in Gujarat during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit at Ahmedabad.


Working on the same directions, group President of RIL Parimal Nathwani, , announced that RIL will enter in education sector, he made this announcement at inaugural function of Khodiar colony branch of Navanagar cooperative bank in Jamnagar early this week.


Reliance Industries Limited(RIL) is entering in education sector, with a good name in DAICT and Dhirubhai Ambani schools and colleges doing extremely good through out the nation, RIL will start world-class engineering colleges Jamnagar and Vadodara.

RIL has sound presence in Jamnagar with its world class refinery and IPCL infrastructure in Vadodara, RIL will also start a diploma polytechnic college in Dwarka (Jamnagar).

Hoax Letter created havoc in Court

A Hoax Letter sent to a local lawyer created havoc yesterday, later it was found to be a hoax.

Government lawyer Vimal Chotai received a hindi letter in post, stating that extrimists will bomb the District court.
Police with sniffer dogs, searched the premices for three hours only to discover that it was a hoax.

Police is now investigating the origin of the letter.

AICT has approved new MCA College, this college is proposed by Oshwal Education Trust. This college will begin academics in 2008-09 year.

Its to note that City's only MBA College is run by Oshwal Education Trust, Haria college has started constructing a second floor on top of the current infrastructure at estimated budget of 2 Crore.

Engineering College in Jamnagar

The AICTE - All India Council for Technical college has approved for 14 professional colleges in Gujarat (9 engineering and 5 pharmacy colleges) This will increase the 3,225 seats in the state.

The new 9 engineering colleges will have 240 seats each.

One of Such Engineering college will also be in Jamnagar.

Gujarat Board SSC Results Announced

Gaur Saurabh (Palanpur) has topped the 10th Gujarat Education Board examinations with 96.31 percent

This year the Gujarat Board SSC result is 63.58 per cent.

Amazingly there are 53 students in top 10 List, 26 are boys and 27 are girls.
Jamnagar's Vasoya Shivani Dhirajlal (C636435) got 7th Rank in board and has topped the Jamnagar Gujarat Board SSC Results, with 95.23 percent
Shah Poonam Jayantilal (C635783)  stood second in Jamnagar and managed to get  9th rank in Board with 94.92 percent.

Both the girls are from Shree Satya Sai Vidyalaya Jamnagar
