5 fishermen returned safely to their homes after spending 7 months jail in pakistan.

Okha and bet Dwarka fishermen community is rejoicing the event, when 5 of their community friends returned home from 7 months jail in pakistan.

LCA Tejas Trials - pride of Jamnagar

As a part of Indian air forces plan to roll out new age fighters for India defence, Jamnagar airforce base will be leading the trials, these trials will ensure getting initial operational clearance (IOC-II) by the end of this year.


  LCA (Light combat aircraft) Tejas was deployed last month to Jamnagar Air Force Station for weapons trials.

 These weapon trials includes advance missile firing and bomb diffusal.
 First round of trials are completed now next, more aggressive rounds of weapons release trials will be conducted both at Jamnagar and Goa.

 LCA Tejas is very much in focus as defence minister is closely monitoring its commissionning progress.

First squadron service will be delivered in 2015.

Jamnagar trials were first after Tejas participited in Iron Fist excercise this year.


Indeed a proud moment for Jamnagar and Jamnagar air force base.

UFO over Reliance Refinery



Multiple sitings of mysterious illuminated object is reported over Reliance Refinery Jamnagar.

This UFO appeared in the dark sky, eye witness reports talks about the UFO circling over the complex and  later disappearing in a flash,

Most recent siting, 3 days back was after dawn. Cameras at the Reliance refinery managed to take a few pictures of the object. Those who have seen this footage claims that the object was bright and spherical.

RIL has already reported the sightings to the government, along with the pictures.

Many experts believe these are drones supplied by China and used by Pakistan to survey the most important industrial installation in India. following to this, The Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard are on alert.

Recently an IB report claimed a confirmation from LeT loyalist that Reliance Refinery Jamnagar was one of their targets.

RIL ED Prasad already wrote to Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily about the sightings. This letter mentions a volleyball sized spherical UFO hovering over refinery.

Special Women Cell At INS Valsura - HC Verdict

In a verdict for Navy, Gujarat high court has directed the office of the Indian navy, INS Valasrua, at Jamnagar to create a special cell to listen to women Naval staff's grievances.


This came in wake of a complaint of a woman clerk who had alleged that she was sexually harassed by a male colleague at the office. High court stated that the new cell will be useful to prevent sexual harassment of women at the workplace.

INS Dwarka has organised many event to promote Navy and bring awareness of civilians to navy capabilities.
India is celebrating 40th anniversary of victory against Pakistan in 1975 Indo-Pak War.

Jamnagar Received Second AWACS

Jamnagar receives the second Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft from Israel on last Friday. The third AWACS will arrives later this year, after the arrival of third AWACS, air patrol by AWACS can cover whole of the Nation.

IAF - Jaguar Back from Oman

After a successful fighter level flight exercise between IAF and Oman Air force ended successfully.

The six IAF Jaguars landed safely at Jamnagar after refueling from an IL-78 MKI mid-air refueller.

The exercises was witnessed by Chief of Staff of the Sultan of Oman’s Armed Forces and Indian diplomats. Oman also expressed wish to hold the exercise in India.

INS Valsura : Coast Guard jawan died in boxing match

A boxing match turned into a death match at INS Valsura near Jamnagar, A Indian Coast Guard jawan succumbed to injury during a friendly boxing match.

A 24-year old unmarried coast guard jawan identified as P.Anand Pandi was posted at INS Valsura for Coast Guard training.

Pandi was hurt during a boxing competition, he was injured in his stomach. He was immediatly was taken to military hospital and later shifted to G.G.hospital where he died after treatment.

INS Valsura Training Institute is located on Rozi Island.

LCA Tested In Jamnagar

Indian Air Force moved one stepped further for the induction of the Light Combat Aircraft.  Light Combat Aircraft will be introduced in the Indian Air Force by the end of 2010.

Jamnagar witnessed the five-week trials of a pair of LCA fighters, The LCA successfully demonstrated its ability to tackle targets designated visually by the pilot.

Next Phase will be to test the LCA on-board navigation and computers simulated target attacks.

National Flight Test Centre , DRDO conducted these five-week trials.

IAF upgrading Jamnagar Air Base : China / Pakistan Effect


The Indian Air Force (IAF) will upgraded MIG -29 squadrons based at Jamnagar soon, along with IAF, Indian Army will alo add muscle power in Jamnagar area.

IAF is considering to add Sukhoi squadron in Jamnagar, however officials denies the report that Jamnagar will be equipped with Sukhoi-30s

President Pratibha Patil - Visiting Dwarka

President Pratibha Patil's is visiting Dwarka and nearby places starting October 2.

Jamnagar Authorities are doing everything it takes to make this event success, a temporary helipad is also planned near the Dwarka temple.

13 rooms of Dwarka circuit house have new air-conditioners, Indian Army, Navy and Airforce Cheifs will welcome her on her arrival.


President Pratibha Patil's  will visit all the temples of Dwarka and after lunch, she will leave for Sasan Gir for a Lion Safari.

Police staff of around 1000 personnel are deployed in Dwarka, including Range IG police, SP's, DySPs etc.

Falcon AWACS lands in Jamnagar

Three Falcon combat aircraft equipped with airborne early warning command control system (AWACS) landed at the IAF Jammnagar on Monday morning from Ben Gurion airport of Israel via Eilat.

These aircraft has a capacity to search enemy missiles and the ability to strike at enemy territory without infringing it.

Falcons are due for induction in IAF on May 27, one-and-a-half year late than the stipulated time due to technical problems. These aircrafts were purchased by India at an approximate cost of Rs 5,000 crore and has one of the most powerful surveillance systems.

AWACS fitted in Falcon is like a permanent dome on the top of the aircraft. These aircrafts were bought as part of tripartite agreement among India, Israel and Russia. Defence ministry sources said with the induction of this state-of-the-art warplanes, IAF's sky surveillance would become unparalleled.

IAF - AWACS Reaching Jamnagar

First of the three Indian Air Force (IAF) Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) will finally arrive in Jamnagar on May 25.

AWACS will be fitted on IL-767 frame and will reach Jamnagar on Monday, May 25th. This will be maiden flight of AWACS from Israel, where it was built.

The AWACS, known as an eye in the sky, has a radar that could help in detecting even cruise missiles or aircraft at ranges much beyond the capabilties of present systems, it also collacts information about troop movements and missile launches on ground and even intercept highly secured communication networks of the enemy.

AWACS operation headquarter is from Agra.

Jamnagar Election 2009 - Road Nahin to Vote Nahin

According to first unofficial average of 40-42 per cent voting on Thursday was observed in Jamnagar.

In one of the interesting news, around 1,600 voters in Dhichada village on the outskirts of Jamnagar boycotted elections to protest their long pending demand of construction of an approach road from highway to the village.

Vice sarpanch Arvind Mathhad said despite repeated representations to political leaders and senior government officials, the village is being neglected. People in surrounding Air Force area, Jamnagar and air port have modern roads but authorities are intentionally ignoring the village.

SS Yadav, a villager, said people in the hamlet unanimously decided last night to boycott polls with a slogan "Road nahi to vote nahi".

Jamnagar District collector VP Patel confirmed that the villagers didn't vote.

Saat Rasta Makeover Plans

Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) has announced its plans to spend around Rs 1.5 crore on the development of Saat Rasta traffic junction.
This reformed road will lead from Samarpan entry to Gulabnagar conceptualised on built on operate' (BOT) basis.

A life-size statue of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi will be installed at the circle, a junction of seven roads: Khabhalia Road, Janata Society Road, ST Station Road, Indira Marg, Bhidbhanjan Road, Air Force Road and Samarpan Entry Road.

The proposed seating arrangement at the circle for people will help unwind themselves and promises to become a recreational point. Earlier, there used to be a fountain at the point, built by Jamnagar Commerical Co-operative Bank. However, it had to be removed due to underground drainage work. Now, the JMC plans a huge circle in a grand makeover plan for the area.

IAF - Russian MIG-29 Fleet Grounding issue

As Russia is re-designing its defense system and making fundamental changes in air-defense, India is taking few gasps.
Russia has decided to largely grounded MiG-29 fleet, On the other hand Indian Air Force has decided not to ground its own MiG-29 squadrons for the moment.

Senior IAF officer explained that Mig-29 will continue to fly from airbases at Halwara and Jamnagar, he also emphasized the MIG-29 importance in coastal airbases of Jamnagar. Jamnagar is biggest airbase that is hosting MIG-29 fleets, MIG-29 are "all-weather air-superiority" fighters that constitute a critical element of India's "air defense capabilities" along the western front.
