Brass Parts - MoU to understand business challanges

Although Govt. of India is not doing enough to work for Brass parts Industries in Jamnagar, state govt. has started putting parallel steps to help the SME in Jamnagar, Gujarat Technological University (GTU) and the local industry body, Jamnagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) have come forward to resolve challenges faced by the industry.

Recently a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was formed and students from the GTU will visit Jamnagar this month to understand and analyse common issues facing this industry. This joint excercise will improve productivity and bring process innovation for the brass-parts industry in Jamnagar that has not moved in development ladder.

On the other hand, GTU Innovation Council, that is a JV between Gujarat Technological University and Ahmedabad-based Techpedia will work on to establish link with brass parts industries and businesses. Techpedia will also work on R&D at the university. This research will aim to understand needs of industries at national and international levels.

 

Techpedia and GTU is aiming to setup a new innovation complex for Jamnagar focusing only on the innovations for the brass-parts manufacturing units.

Techpedia also says that GTU students analysed approach will be prototyped and ideas will be protected by proper IPR coverage for the student.

One of the brass parts industry analyst explains main challanges in Jamnagar brass parts industry, like production front. Considering a very large brass parts market across the world and local industry is only focussing on manufacturing is one of the major challange, around 5000 manufacturing units around Jamnagar will be benefitted by this project.
