Molestation - Dental College Professor Under Scrutiny

Seven girls of Jamnagar Dental College have complained to dean & state health minister of a physical harassment and sexual misbehaviour at the hands of a senior professor from Ahmedabad. 

The girls were subjected to answer totally absurd questioned and the body language of the professor was harassing. 


One of the girl also complained that the professor touched her body and threatened to fail if she did not comply.


One of the girl was asked to visit his house in Vasna in order to secure good marks, five out of seven girls are from Ahmedabad.

College officials said that they received an apology letter, as this does not seemed to be enough, many says he should be barred from examination process altogether.

Controversial Sports Complex Opening Today

Controversial sport complex will open today,  this complex was a subject of long conflict between JMC and Vishwanath Vyayam Mandal. This comlex was built with estimated cost of around  6 Crore,  

Considering the controversy JMC and the unit had gone through, the opening will not be grand but a quite one.

Bala Hanuman Temple - Priest stole cash

A Bala Hanuman priest was caught recently for stealing cash. 
A FIR registered by a trustee says one of the priest of the temple put cash in his pocket instead of the cash box of the temple, also he closed all CCTC camera so that he can escape from this act.

Sani Dam Water lose - Complete Story

New revelations are made with news pouring out on many of the local newspapers about Sani Dam accident and lose of millions of gallons of water.

Priminary investigation points fingers at human error and gross ignorance for this accident to happen. this accident lost water that could fill 400 small checkdams or could fill 75% of Aaji dam. Adding insult to injury, a tide control dam on Meghal river near Chorwad has faced similiar problems.

Irrigation department accepted the fact that there was human error in checking and maintenance of the dam, Chief Er. of irrigation Nandapara did confirmed this with Gujarat Samachar & Nobat.

This accident's water lose could have provided water for 4 Lak people foe next 18 months.

People will surely start agitation against the accident and are demanding probe and action for this, they feared that dam staff just looked for getting money from corruped ways and ignored their duty, that leads to this accident.

Sani Dam Gate Burst Off - Several Villlage under Water

Several villages in downstream of Sani dam are now swamped with three- to five-feet deep water.

On Wednesday one of the gates of Sani dam broke open due to heavy rain. Sani dam is the main source of drinking and agri water for Kalyanpur and Dwarka talukas.

Around 25,000 people from 15 villages have been evacuated so far, thse villages includes Ranparada, Rawal, Suryawadar, Chandrawada, Ashiyavadar, Kanpar, Sheradi, Jepur, Dangarwad, Chur, Chappar, Gorana, Devaliya, Gandhavi and Chasalana

Repair work is still in progress, however if things does not finish on time, soon the dam will be emptied.



So far Jamnagar City has received more then 30 inch rainfall, Last sunday's rain was around 17-19 inch.

UPDATED - Weekend Rain News


Jamnagar City received around 7.5 inch rain in the weekend,
In the city, rain started from Friday evening continued till Sunday and lashed around 7.5 inch of rainfall. flooding areas like Rameshwar nagar, Khodiya Colony, Limda-lane, Bedi gate, Jayshree Talkies etc. Lakhota lake also received fresh supply of rain-water.

Jamnagar district's Kalyanpur taluka's Bhatia lake filled completly in this rainfall, Lalpur also received 0.75 inch, Bhanvad , Dhrol received 1.25 inch. and Jodia,Kalawad received .5 inch rain in last weekend.

1 pakistani boat captured near okha

[UPDATE]
Indian coast guard has arrested a pakistani boat and 8 pakistani fisherman along okha coast.

Fisherman says they got trapped in weather and sailed to Indian waters more details are awaited.

Ex- Dy Sp nabbed in Cheating case

A Ex- Dy Sp of Jamnagar featured recently in a cheating case. Quite funny though, this Dy Sp was accused in selling a magical spectacles for Rs 15 lakh in Dhrol. One more convict a Patel was nabbed and produced before Jamnagar court on Monday and is in custody. however two co-accused in the case are still absconding. It was this Dy Sp's idea to cheat a advocate Jayanti Mistri in Navsari, by selling a special pair of spectacles, which they claimed had magical properties.

3 Inch Rain in 2 Hours - Jamnagar

It’s raining in Jamangar from Friday (Today) morning, Jamnagar city has received 3 inch rain in just 2 hours. Jamnagar district in total has witnessed 46% of total seasonal rain this season. Jamnagar district’s Dhrol, Jamjodhpur and Jamnagar talukas received 22mm, 10mm and 32mm rainfall respectively. and its still raining heavily.

Dwarka Oceanarium

A 100 crore mega project  will get a kickoff by end of the year, Oceanarium- first in India will start its development in Dwarka.

This oceanarium will have a unique marine park and a glass tunnel for exotic marine life. Initial visitor estimate is approx at 5Lakh out of 15L who visits Dwarka.

Looks like the project design has its maths correct, idea is that famous Dwarkadhish or Jagannath temple is one of the four major pilgrim centers of Hindu, and this temple remains closed from noon to 5 pm. visitors will surely spend their time gainfully at the air conditioned oceanarium.

This project will soon be a reality as its a PPP project and will unlikely to have delays

Swarka - Baba Ramdev to launch yatra

Baba Ramdev is starting his movement against corruption, called  "Bharat Swabhiman Janjagriti Yatra" from Dwarka on August 24.

This yatra will cover 300 districts across the country including those in Gujarat. Baba Ramdev will start the yatra with a yoga camp from 5am to 7.30 am

Heavy rain lashes Jamnagar district

Jamnagar district finally had its share of rain in last week-end, On saturday night and Sunday morning Khambhaliya received 6 inch of rain, maximum in the current season,

Jamnagar city received around 4 inch in just around one hour. Lalpur, Lamba received 3 inch, Bhanvad 2.5, Dwarka 2, Dhrol, Jamjodhpur received 1.75 inch.

Water reserviour across the district received new water. Ranjit Sagar Dam level is up by around 15 ft , UmiyaSagar dam is overflowing at 15 ft.

Updated : Subhash Trivedi , New Jamnagar DSP

 Surat's Deputy Police Commissioner(Crime) Shri Subhash Trivedi has been transferred to Jamnagar as Superintendent of Police.

Subhash Trivedi was in news in feb, when Trivedi shot state ATS inspector named Shabbir Ali.

This happened during a mock-drillin the Surat airport. Trivedi was leading the rescue team said he accidentally shot inspector from his service revolver.

ATS chief Ajay Tomar was asked to investigate in the matter
