JNV Aliabada - Khel Mahakumbh Completed

Jamnagar (Gujarat) District Khel Maha kumbh was completed successfully at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Aliabada on Wednesday.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Students performed welcome songs and many cultural programmes, district additional collector, local MLAs etc were present and they distributed awards to various winning team and participants

Ship Drowned, Mayor Elections

A ship returning from Dubai torn to pieces and drowned when a larger ship hit her near Dwarka, the broken ship was from Mandavi and carrying cargo of Dates from Dubai.
All eight sailors were saved by a passing ship.
On news from Jamnagar city, Jamnagar Municipal Corporation will hold mayor elections on 14 December.
Jamnagar's M. P. Shah Medical college and GG Hospital (Irwin) will undergo an audit check by Medical Council of India.

Retired Mamlatdar - cleared of all charges

A retired Mamlatdar from Kalavad, was cleared of all charges by Gujarat High Court (HC), 18 years after he was trapped by the ACB while accepting bribe of mere Rs 300.

Chandrakant Bhuptani, a mamlatdar working in Kalavad was arrested in January 1992 was caught by ACB officials while accepting bribe of Rs 300 from a kerosene vendor, Chandrakant Joshi. ACB suggested that Joshi bribed Bhuptani so that he could carry on his business. And earlier special ACB court had convicted Bhuptani for four years rigorous imprisonment in 1997.
Bhuptani moved to Gujarat High Court, and was cleared of all charges considering there was no evidence against him.

INS Veer , Navy Week : Okha

INS Veer - A Vidyut class missile boat and a killer of 1975 Indo-Pak war will be in Okha for few days to celebrate Indian Navy Week starting 1st Dec.

INS Dwarka has organised many event to promote Navy and bring awareness of civilians to navy capabilities.
India is celebrating 40th anniversary of victory against Pakistan in 1975 Indo-Pak War.

Three Temple Looted - Ranjitnagar

In a major embarrassment for Jamnagar Police, thieves looted cash from donation boxes across three temples in Ranjit Nagar on friday night.

Three temples in RanjitNagar includes Janki Vallabh Mandir, Chamunda Mandir and Ram Mandir near the market area, strangely thieves left the ornament untouched.
Police is trying forensic and dog squad to nab the thieves

Unseasonal Rain - Farmer suicide

Unseasonal rains forced a farmer killed himself yesterday near Jamnagar.

A farmer in a small village near Jamnagar committed suicide by poisoning himself; he was worried over unseasonal rain that spoilt his field. The farmer had bought the money on credit and there was no way to repay it back.

Flight hoax call made authorities run

A hoax call to Jamnagar Airport saying that a Jamnagar bound flight from Mumbai was hijacked made authorities run to Airport.

Jamnagar Fire brigade, Special commando force of Jamnagar police and collector of Jamnagar rushed to the spot, only to find that it was a mock drill arranged by local administration.
A NSG commando team from New Delhi also reached while the mock drill was being executed.

Global Bird Watchers Conference Ends

"Excellent" was the term used by many dignitaries and bird watcher enthusiast who gathered for the first time in Jamnagar for the Global bird watchers conference 2010.

Three day long Global Bird Watchers Conference ended on Friday with Narara hiking and Pirotan excursion, foreigners were excited to see diversified flora and fauna of the Gujarat state and especially of Jamnagar. Bird watchers from far west and Europe were thrilled to see that excellent marine biology exists just beside a well maintained aquatic bird reserve Khijadia.
Khijadia was main attraction of the conference, around 400 visitors spotted more then 180 species of birds in Khijadia, many writers and bloggers commented appreciation for this wonderful place.
Conference also displayed many research papers and documents from many bird experts.
CM Narendra Modi, Tourism Minister Jai Narayan Vyas and Jam Sahib Shri ShatruShalyaji promised to declare early winter period a Bird Watching season from next year onwards to boost eco tourism.
