Essar bank account freeze - now what

Gujarat govt. took an aggressive move and freezes 3 bank accounts of Essar Oil Ltd. In Jamnagar district.



While the state sales tax department shows no remorse in this act, Essar oil expressed "surprise and disappointment" over the government's "unexpected" move.



Essar already intimated its position to State Govt. and also updated that it will deposit 1000 cr. In 30 days.



On June 25, a High Court division bench, rejected the plea of Essar Oil for relief in repayment of Rs 8,414 crore due as sales tax deferment liability.



The company, which was building a nine-million tonne per annum crude oil refinery at Vadinar, needed to complete the project by April 2003, in order to qualify for sales tax incentives. But the project began operations in 2006.



This was to recover sales tax dues of over Rs 8,000 crore from Essar Oil Limited.

Cyrus Mistry in Mithapur

Tata Group Deputy chief, Cyrus Mistry visited the Tata chemicals complex at Mithapur recently.

 

Mr. Mistry visited the plant premises and new project constructions.

 

Mr. Mistry will be leading the Tata Group after Mr. Rata Tata.

 

Illegal Mining Scandal worth 2 Crore in Jamnagar

Jamnagar police managed to catch hold of a huge mining scandal in Bhanvad.



Police also confiscated machinery, vehicles and minerals worth Rs 2 Crore. A police team managed to confiscate around 59 Crusher machines, two generator sets, four tractors, two trucks, 11,000 stones, an electric motor, couple of mobile phones also.



A Violation of Mining act was registered against 116 persons.



Under this scandals the convict used to mine the Barda Hills and sell it to market without paying tax or duties. Jamnagar SP has intimated the Minerals and Mining department, also local panchayat office are notified.



Jamnagar Police have arrested 25 persons so far on this regard.

Cops house looted

ગુજરાતના એક ખૂણામાં પડી જવાને કારણે જામનગર એના સગા ભાઇ સમા રાજકોટ જેવું પૈસેટકે સમૃદ્ધ નહિ બન્યું હોય, પણ રજવાડી શહેરની શાન-ઓ-શૌકત હજી જામનગરમાં બરકરાર છે, જે રાજકોટે ગૂમાવી દીધી છે.
શહેરનું ચક્કર મારવા નીકળ્યા હો, તો એક ગાળ બેશક સાંભળવા મળશે ‘‘નવરીના’’,
એટલે સીધી ક્રિયાપદની ગાળો ય નવી નોટોની માફક ચલણમાં મૂકાઇ છે, ‘‘હવે હાલતીનો થા...’’ ...‘‘જરા ઊભીનો ’રે, ને...!!’’
બાકી અફ કોર્સ, તમારે સ્વીકારવું તો પડે જ કે, દુનિયાભરમાં જામનગર જેવી મીઠી ભાષા.. ફક્ત જામનગરીઓ પાસે જ સાંભળવા મળે. ‘‘અમે તો ‘કે ’દિના તમારી રાહું જોતા’તા, ભાઆ... ય, પણ તમે નો આઇવા.’’ (‘નો આઇવા’ એ તો ફક્ત મનગમતા માણસો માટે, બાકીનાને ‘તમે નો ગુડાણા...’’ એમ કહેવાય. આવા મહાનુભાવો માટે, ‘પાણી પીઘું’ ને બદલે ‘ઢીંચ્યુ’ જમવાને બદલે ‘ગળચ્યું’ બોલાય.

જામનગરમાં કોઇને ઘેર મેહમાન થયેલો માણસ ભૂખ્યો પાછો ન જાય. બાકીના ગુજરાતમાં બરણીવાળો ગયા શુક્રવારવાળો નાસ્તો ખવડાવીને મેહમાનોને પતાવી દે. જામનગરવાળા જમાડીને મોકલે. ન જમો તો કદાચ મારે ય ખરા. કટાણે ગયા હો તો ગરમાગરમ પાટા (આપણી ભાષામાં પેલા લાંબા ‘ફાફડા’) હોય. અડઘું જામનગર રોજ સવારે ભૂલ્યા વગર ગરમ ગાંઠીયા અને પાટા ખાઇ ખાઇને મોટું થયું છે. જામનગરમાં કોઇ માંદુ પડે, તો બ્લડને બદલે ગાંઠીયાના બાટલા ચડાવવાનો દસ્તુર છે. લારીને આ લોકો રેંકડી કહે છે. પાણી-પુરીની શોખિન પ્રજા પહેલા પૂછી લે છે, ‘‘દસ રૂપિયે મેં કિતની દોગે?’’ પેલો કહે ‘‘આઠ’’. એ પછી અમારો જામનગરી ધરાઇ ધરાઇને ૬૦-૭૦ પકોડીઓ ધરબી ગયો હોય ને પછી ભૈયાને અટકાવીને કહે,‘‘ભૈયાજી, દસ રૂપિયે કી હો જાયે, તો બોલ દેના"...!!
હમણાં હમણાંથી જો કે, રીલાયન્સ અને એસ્સાર આવ્યા પછી અહીંના લોકોના ખિસ્સામાં ય જોર વઘ્યું છે અને દોઢસો રૂપિયાની પંજાબી સબ્જી આપતી મોટી હોટલોમાં જતી થઇ છે... એ વાત જુદી છે કે, વૈભવ નવો નવો અને આદતો જૂની જૂની હોવાથી હજી મોટી હૉટેલમાં ગયા પછી, ‘‘ઓ ભા’આ..ય.. જરી બે ગાંઠીયા વધારે તો નાંખો.. ’’ બોલાઇ જાય છે.
એક જમાનામાં જામનગરને સૌરાષ્ટ્રનું પેરિસ કહેવાતું. આજે રીલાયન્સ કે ેએસ્સારને કારણે સુંદરતામાં જરી આધુંપાછું થયું હશે, પણ જામનગર ફ્‌ક્ત એની સુંદરતા ઉપર જ મુસ્તાક નથી. અહીંના લોકોનું કલ્ચર. લાઇફ-સ્ટાઇલ કે મોજીલો સ્વભાવ... ઉપરાંત ખૂબ જ વહાલા લાગે તેવા જૂનાં રસ્તાઓ, શેરી અને ફળીઓ, પાનવાળાઓ, અમારો લાખોટો, અમારૂં ગ્રેઇન માર્કેટ ને અમારા બેડીનું નાકું.. ભાઇભાઇભાઇ...
અહીંની મેડિકલ કૉલેજમાં ભણીને ડૉકટર થયેલા કોઇ સેંકડો નથી, હજારો છે. દુનિયાભરમાં એ લોકોએ જામનગરનું જ નહિ, ભારતનું પણ નામ રોશન કર્યું છે. જામનગરનું એક દિવસનું અનાજ ખાઇ જનાર કદી ૠણ ચુકવવાનું ન ભૂલે, એવી અહીંની ભૂમિ છે. અહીં ભણી ગયેલા ડૉકટરો ક્યારેક પેશન્ટસની બાકી ફી ભૂલી જાય છે, પણ જામનગરને કોઇ ભૂલ્યું નથી

Jamnagar : New GSFC LNG Terminal

Gujarat’s premier fertiliser company, Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (GSFC) is expanding its presence in Jamnagar, GSFC is considering a partnership another state owned company, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (GSPL) for setting up a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal near Jamnagar.  GSFC already has a DAP production plant and a captive jetty at Sikka, the idea is to use the LNG terminal to enrich the facility.

Currently GSFC is under expansion of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) plant capacity at Sikka to 1.6 mtpa from 1.2 MTPA, this is a Rs.300 crore project.

This LNG terminal will be opening a new business for GSFC, currently India’s only 2 LNG terminal are in Gujarat. GSPL has setup the terminal with Adani at Mundra, while GVK is setting up a new terminal at OkhaMadhi.

India’s LNG demand is likely to rise in coming years. And GSFC on the other hand waiting for the new urea policy to be unveiled, if all is well then GSFC may go ahead with Dahej expansion plan and subsequently the LNG terminal also.

New Suzlon Power Project - Jamnagar

Looks like its raining projects in Jamnagar.



Suzlon Group confirmed its upcoming project for GMDC in Jamnagar today.



This project will be Rs 305 crore for setting up a 50 MW power project.



Gujarat Mineral Development Corp (GMDC) is looking to develop this power plant as a part of its growth plan.



This project will have 24 units of wind turbines. Suzlon chief went gaga over the immense wind potential near Jamnagar and how the company is contributing in harnessing it.



GMDC on the other hand already has a base of around 100 MW power generation, Suzlon is contributing in 60% of that capacity.

Nanduri - Jamnagar's Tobacco-less village

A welcoming agreement was announced in the Nanduri Village of Lalpur Taluka in Jamnagar this week,

Nanduri, a village of 5000 residents near Lalpur decided to not to sell tobacco products in the village, there are 15 shops currently in Nanduri that sells tobacco products, all the shopkeepers agreed to not to sell tobacco in village.

Shopkeepers agreed on a fine of Rs 2000, if one is found to sell the tobacco, the collected fine will be used in collecting grass for cows

Reliance plastic thieves arrested from jamnagar

In a combined operation, jamnagar police managed to arrest 14 member gang who confessed in stealing reliance refinery granules loaded truck near refinery. Most of these gang members were employee of the transport contractors within the refinery, jamnagar police could identify them from CCTV of reliance refinery. Most of the looted booty was sold in Gujarat or Rajasthan. Jamnagar police also found that they used to loot commodities and costly items.

Police is investigating more on this theft.

Water scarcity in Jamnagar, Patel colony hit.

Jamnagar's prime residential area, Patel colony is facing issues in water distribution.

Each day only water is distributed for 40 min in most of the Patel colony areas, as the distribution is done with low pressure the residents on higher floor can not receive the water in ample quantity.

Each concern department water distribution was notified of this problem, however no action has been taken.

With growing population in City, Jamnagar Municipal corporation will need to put in additional efforts to provide basic necessity like water to everyone.

Pakistan marines fired on fishermen

In a provoking incident, pakistan marine security agency open fired a jamnagar fishing boat near jamnagar.

A fishing boat was named sagar bhuja and it came under attack near jakhau area.

One of the fisherman was hit by open fire and is under medical treatment.

Fisherman Bana CrorePati - a catch worth millions

A Jamnagari fisherman became a Crorepati in just one catch.



Hassan Isha Bhaya, a small time fisherman from Bharana (Jamnagar) caught 363 Ghol fish while fishing near Jakhau. As per the fisheries , This type of fish is very rare and never caught in large quantity, also these are deep sea fishes and in area around Jafrabad to Kodinar.



A fish trader at Jakhau said that he has never seen this much catch in his fishing career of 35 years. This catch gave the fisherman 80 Lakh.



This entire cache was bought by the Veraval-based Fish dealer Rolex Sea Food. As per the current market prices, each Kg of Ghol Fish is sold for 600 Rs. In India, outside India it is sold for around 50 USD.



As Ghol fishes are rare they are difficult to find, also the medical aspects of the fish increases their prices in international market.
