Eid Celebrations around Jamnagar

Bakri Eid was celebrated with much enthusiasm around the city; thousands took part in Eid Namaz and greeted each other.

Various Masjid like Idgah Masjid, Jumma Masjid, Ratanbai Masjid, Matva Masjid, Gowal Masjid etc hosted Namaj for the Eid.

car caught fire near Dwarka temple

A car that was parked in a no parking zone caught fire in wee hours
of monday, nearby people tried to stop the fire and later called fire
brigades.

The car was parked on no parking area near the jagat temple.

Marine National Park Camp

Jamnagar Marine National Park authority will be hosting a nature camp starting Nov - 10, This camp will continue till Jan-11.

As per Marine National park incharge Mr. Sata , this form is available at Marine National Park Office near Nagnath gate.

500 Brahmin trapped near Haridwar

Around 500 Gugli brahmins from dwarka are believed to be trapped near haridwar, recent rains and landslide near Uttarakhand have made things from difficult to worst.

Although there are no casulties reported yet but these travellers are afraid and are in dire need of food and life essentials

Ganesh Chaturthy was celebtrated at its best at Sapda, best known as Ganesh on hill near Jamnagar, mere 10-15 km from city yet in its nature abode, with a magnificient view and with Sapda dam nearby.

Siddhi Vinayak Temple @ Sapda is believed to be more then 600 year old, it is believed that ancient kings of Halar (Chavda Dynasty) build this temple and Later Jam Kings protected the temple.

 This year Ganesh Chaturthy was celebrated with mahaprasad,Maha-aarti and maha bhojan.

In the evening there was Santwani program with participants like Mayabhai Ahir and Kirtidan Gadhvi, around 50-60,000 audience participated in the program and enjoyed it.

Coral Rehabilitation Project - Marine National Park

Under a conservation project for eco-diversity, Gujarat State Forest dept will get some coral from Lakshadweep, and re-plantation them in Jamnagar Marine National Park

These Acropora Corals are on the brink of extinction, earlier it was found in abundance now are a rare sight in Pirotan / Narara.

Two more coral species, Corites and Feviya, will also be replanted. Jamnagar's Marine National park is of the few parks in world where travellers can see coral in shallow water also.

This Project funded by World bank will have lifecycle of 5 years.

Baba Ramdev, was in Dwarka on the eve of Janmashtami, Journalists asked him about PC's remarks of "Saffron Terrorism".

Baba Ramdev said he was upset with this remarks, and called PC a metal patient, baba ramdev also suggested Yoga  and Pranayam as he can not see a difference between terrorism, Maoism and Naxalism. Baba ramdev was promoting his new political party Yatra from Dwarka.

Ancient Buildings in worst condition

Jamnagar, Once known as Paris of Saurashtra now cries for restoration of its famous ancient buildings, forts and great architectures.


Jamnagar Municipal Corporation spends millions in re-building the city circles, where it can not look for restoring famous Lakhota Lake Fort.


Take a case of Statue of Jam Raval near Lakhota Lake, this place is filled with dirt and is not cleaned since almost a year. The horse on which founder of Jamnagar seats, has lost 3 legs, this statue can fall at any moment. Lakhota Lake Fort itself is going under restoration since last 5 years with no progress.


Ironically the same department which is looking for these architecture (ASI) is spending around 32Lakh on cleaning up and painting a tower (Pancheshwar Tower) in city, building that are older then 150-200 years are completly ignored, this includes Bhujio Kotho, Lakhota Lake Fort, Khambhaliya Gate etc.


In last 5 years, JMC had spent more then 3-4 crore in gardening, plantation and slum cleanup which is though not visible here. Now only the alert citizens can wake up the JMC from its prolonged intended ignorance of the situation.

CSMRI Found New Vegetation Near Vadinar

Jamnagar coastline is biggest coastline in India in terms of length and hence has the only Marine National Park in the country,

Bhavnagar based CSMRI recently found around 93 new species of florals near Vadinar, this area is in close proximity to Pirotan and Narara Island in Jamnagar.

Of these 93 species around 13 are found first time rest 80 species are found elsewhere in the world but not near Jamnagar. These species are variety in sea-weeds.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh left Jamnagar yersterday and was overwhelmed with his experiences in Gujarat.
 
Amitabh Bachchan, stayed in Meethapur and went to Dwarka yesterday morning, Bachhan was featured in a video presentation with 1008 lamps on Gomti Ghat, he reached Jamnagar by road from where he left for Mumbai on a special plane.

Bachhan had completed filming for last piece of video for Gujarat Tourism promotion -  'Khushboo Gujarat Ki'.

Amitabh Bachhan will visit Dwarka, Bet Dwarka and Nageshwar from 20th August onwards and will leave from Jamnagar for Mumbai.

Dwarka Airport - Land Acquisition Started

Dwarka Tourism got its  booster now, Gujarat Tourism board has started plans of acquisition and distribution of additional 65 hector land near proposed Dwarka Airport,

This counts to total 222 hector land near Dhrevad village on Jamnagar-Dwarka state highway.

Initial plan revleals the runway length to be around 1.8 KM, this will enable a 300 passenger capacity jet to land in this proposed airport.

Shivrajpur (Dwarka) to be developed as Beach Resort

Just when Gujarat is heading for a Green Revolution under CM Modi's leadership, good business news continues to flow for Jamnagar.

In response to GMB's bid request for eco friendly beach development in Gujarat, two firms had shown interest. Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) has short listed tourist beaches at Sarkeshwar (Amreli) and Shivrajpur (Jamnagar).

Two architecture consultancy firms are Hiren Gandhi & Associates and Wapcos India, a flagship company of union ministry of water resources.

The successful bidders will be involved in planning and design of tourist beach development.  Gujarat Green Beach Development Project will be first amongst the public private partnership (PPP) projects from Gujarat Govt. around Rs. 200 crore will be spent on developing these two beaches.

Shivrajpur near Jamnagar has the best view and clean blue water with potential to become one of the best beaches in Gujarat.
