International Bird Watcher Conference

Jamnagar is gearing for International Bird Watcher's Conference.

Starting 25th Nov. Jamnagar administration is organising many events for the conference,

Two new bird watching tower are now ready for the bird watchers, Khijadiya - a 600 Acre wetland near the salty plains serves around 250 species of migratory birds, this wetland has speciality of salt and fresh water reservoirs. Gujarat Tourism Department has organised this conference to attract visitors across the globe.

More then 700 visitors will be participating in the conference, around 100 visitors around the world and around 450 national bird watching enthusiast from across the India will be travelling Jamnagar.

Hotels in city and highway are booked by administration, exhibition schedules and information will be presented in three languages, 100 different sign boards in various languages are also prepared, translation facilities will also be made available.

All major roads of Jamnagar city are patched and cleaned in view of the conference (and CM's presence), Town hall is upgraded with estimate cost of 2.5L , looking at activities of the Gujarat Tourism Board, Khijadiya and Pirotan will be developed as a major places of travel within Gujarat.

National Record will be broken in Jamnagar

Squadron Leader Ramakant is all set to break a national record of longest Para-motor flight today,

He will start his journey from Mundra in Kutch and cover the Bay of Kutch and land in Jamnagar, will fly total distance of about 55 km.

Para-motor is an ultra light flying machine , many also calls this as powered paraglider. This machine will be mounted on the back of the pilot, who will inflates the glider run and then gets on air.
The para-motor Ramakant will uses is a small piston engine of 150 CC with propeller attached to a paraglider. Para-motor is very light that it can be attached to any Pilot or small machine, para-motors are normally used in photography, towing, petals / fertilizer dropping, and fun-flying. Para-motor can travel at the speed of 45 kmph and can claim altitude up to 10,000 feet above the sea level.
Ramakant also holds national records in powered hang gliding and has also been awarded the "Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award 2008" for his outstanding achievements in the field of aero sports.

Recently Khodaldham (Kagvad - Rajkot) saw the show strength by Leuva Patel (LP) community.

Kadva Patel (KP) community who has equally strong base is all set to give fitting reply this february in Jamnagar's Sidsar. "Maa Umiya nu Tedu" (Invitation by deity Umiya) is already sent to 2.5 Lakh Kadva Patel families living in 747 villages in Saurashtra.

This religious and social event will be a showcasing event to show unity and strength, this will also mark the silver jubilee celebration of Umiyadham at Sidsar in Jamnagar, the event will be held between February 9 and 13. 


The Kadva Patel event will be inaugurated by CM. Modi, unlike the Leuva Patel event which was a LP only event. 


KP event's media cell is managed by Rajni Patel and he explained this event as non-political and solely for followers of Umiya, prominant names who confirmed the presence includes chief minister Narendra Modi, Baba Ramdev, Shri Shri Ravishankar, Morari Bapu, Rameshbhai Oza etc. Chief minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event on February 9.

Entire Mahotsav will run for 5 Days Mahotsav, and will cover 250 Acres of Land.
This event will be a milestone in terms of event management. The event will feature 25 Dining Hall on 15 Lac sq. ft land, 23 Lac Sq. ft Mandapa, 50 Lac Sq. ft flooring, Grand Agricultural fare, Industrial Fair & Book Exhibition, Colourful & Entertaining Amusement Park, 200 sign boards, 15 lighting towers, the organising committee is also promising world class grand cultural programmes throughout the five day bonanza. Complete event is spawn across 255 acres.

Recently, around 41 crore was received in donation in just three hours for the event, the management is expecting total 25 lakh visitors in five days. 

Besides the usual social activities a new and better initiative for eye donation registration will be carried out, around 2 Lakh Kadva Patel community members will register for eye donation during this five-day mahotsav in Sidasar near Jamnagar, 15 counters will be setup for this registration. 11,000 volunteers are managing this complete process. A parallel blood donation drive will collect 6,000 bottle of blood.

There is a plan to collect 25 million USD (around rs 125 Cr.) in the event, expected are 400 NRI families who will can travel from Rajkot to Sidsar via a paid helicopter service.

Jamnagar - Travellers Cheated by not providing Volvo bus

Jamnagar Consumer Forum has directed Sapan Tours and Travels and Raj Travels to Pay 5600/- to a father-son who were harassed by services of the travel company.

A father-son duo purchased a Volvo ticket from Rajkot to Puna, however as the bus got punctured near Rajkot, and it got replaced by a simple bus, which got delayed by 3 hrs, Other bus was arranged from Gandhinagar, which halted at a restaurant for 1 ½ Hr.

The travelers reach some 7 Hr. late, it is an eye opener for all travelers who rush to these Tour organizers when they do not get Rail-Tickets.
