Investigation on Jamnagar terror alert sounded a week ago had a very nasty turn last night.
Earlier this week, Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB) managed to grab the headlines after it published five suspects with photo and their approximate targets.
Initially what looked like solid intelligence information is slowly becoming a huge embarrassment for the RAW and Intelligence bureau.
Photos of the terrorist provided by security agencies were flashed across the country and like every case; Indian media hyped the case stating the arrival of the 'deadly' five across the border, of the targets identified, one was the Refineries near Jamnagar, triggering a security panic through out Gujarat and specially in Jamnagar.
Come Thursday, Pakistani newspapers like Dawn and The Express Tribune catch this ball, and hit it hard back to India. Newspapers claimed that two of the men being shown as terrorists were shopkeepers in Lahore, and one was a security guard. In fact when they saw their picture flashed in Indian channels, they turned up at local police stations in Pakistan for ‘protection’.
Now the pictures posted didn’t looked like pictures from passport or from any official documents, what looked more like a facebook profile picture.
Still, India’s former IB chief is not ruling out the suspicion yet, he says that raised doubts about the individuals were genuine and can not be ruled out.
