A quick press note from Reliance Industry revealed that a Houston-based Phillips 66's technology was selected for Reliance Refinery's proposed gasification plants at Jamnagar.
Like everything else in the Reliance Refinery, this new proposed gasification unit at Jamnagar Complex will be one of the largest in the world.
This unit will process petroleum coke and coal into synthesis gas utilising (Phillips 66's) E-Gas Technology. Refinery's existing power generation units (gas turbine) will then use this synthesis gas.
Phillips 66 agreed to license its E-Gas Technology to RIL, Phillips will also be a consultant to provide required process engineering design and technical support during design and construction of the proposed plant.
