Yesterday Essar Oil announced commissioning of a new unit (Isomerization) at Essar oil's Vadinar refinery.
Essar oil is aiming to produce Euro IV grade petrol, this will be of a high octane rating with almost zero sulphur content. In this new ISOM unit, naptha will be used as primary feed and will reduce the sulphur content to almost zero.
Essar is planning to use the recovered Sulphur for production use as well, this expansion will also help increase capacity of refinery to 18 million ton against current 14 MT.
Essar also set new record of commissioning, and completed the process in just 32 days as against to industry average of 55 days.
Essar is planning to complete the rest units like DCU (Delayed Coker Unit), VGO-HT (Vacuum Gas Oil Hydrotreater) and a new SRU (Sulphur Recovery Unit) by the end of the month.
