Court ordered to act on Jamnagar Police chief

On Thursday, Gujarat high court directed Gujarat state government to remove IPS officer Subhash Trivedi from the post of the police chief from Jamnagar district. The custodial torture of one Vishal Shingala also took away jobs of a police inspector and a sub-inspector.

With this a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) enquiry was suggested by court, in this regards.

In 2011, a Petition filed by Shingala claimed brutal torture when an FIR was lodged against him. He named DSP Trivedi and police inspector AP Jadeja and sub-inspector GN Vaghela of ‘B’ division police, in his complaint to court.

Some local news claimed that the court ordered "Only to file a case" against the DSP and the police officials, more detailed are awaited.
