Refineries - Parliamentary standing committee visit

Parliamentary standing committee recently visited Reliance and Essar refineries in Jamnagar, this committee included 15 MP and 14 state level members of Rajya sabha, this committee will investigate environmental impact of these refineries over the Marine National Park of India located near Reliance and Essar refinery.

During this visit, Jamnagar Rajiv Gandhi Brigade members meet with the delegation and requested them to plant mangroves in this region, this will protect coral life and increase flora and fauna in this region. The committee was also requested to enrich wetland reserves like Khijadiya, Narara and Pirotan. Rajiv Brigade requested these areas to be placed under “Special attention for Conservation”.
