Dwarka Railway Station Renovation

By Jamnagar NewsOn 3. May 2011

Dwarka Railway station will soon be renovated as new building that will mimic Dwarka’s famous landmark, the Jagat Mandir.

Indian railway is working on renovating all train stations of major pilgrimage places with replica of temples, Railway is looking to invest around 5crore that involves special marble carved stones and shape that resembles Dwarkadhish temple.

New station will have a waiting room, canteen,  enquiry, new platform and an overbridge, however the question remains is with very few trains connecting to Dwarka will this all be worth? Or it also makes sense to add more trains to Dwarka from major cities like Delhi and Mumbai. This will boost tourism and can turn into cash cow for Railway.
